7 Reasons Motion Graphics Will Enhance Your Digital Marketing

7 Reasons to Use Motion Graphics | Harp Advertising & Interactive

What is a motion graphic, you ask? You’ve seen them a thousand times before and just didn’t realize it. They’re short videos that inform, engage, and entertain..

They’re also a must-have for every company’s digital marketing strategy. According to Forbes, video is projected to claim more than 80% of all web traffic by 2019. Motion graphics are exploding across the internet, and it’s not without good reason. Here’s why motion graphics and videos are sure to improve your digital marketing.

1) Motion graphics increase sales

It seems impossible that a sixty-second video could convince a customer to spend their hard-earned cash on your product. But, this is exactly the case. A study from Eyeview Digital found that having a video on your landing page can increase conversion by 80%. It draws people in and makes you and your company real to a client in one minute or less. An interesting video can not only bring a product to life, it can make a meaningful difference in your bottom line.

2) Motion graphics help your SEO

Wistia found that people spend 2.6x longer on webpages that have videos than ones that don’t. Even if it’s the difference between one minute and two, that’s a good thing for your website. When people spend longer on your page, Google bumps it up in the search results. A motion graphic can help you overtake the competition and reach customers by drawing people to your page and keeping them there.

3) Videos are the best social media content

Whether it’s cute cats, make-up tutorials, or movie trailers, you may have noticed that videos tend to dominate your Facebook feed. This is because organic Facebook engagement is highest with videos. Videos are liked, shared, reacted to, and commented on more than any other content. A marketing team can easily utilize this. If you post a video, you can just sit back and watch the likes roll in while people spread the content for you all across the web.

4) Videos are eye-catching

Nothing draws the eye like a motion graphic. According to Nielsen Norman Group, eyesight-tracking studies show that relevant images will often draw the eye more than text will. If you can pair information about your product with interesting graphics, people pay attention to it. A video will capture a viewer’s attention and they’re likely to stick with a video to the end, receiving your whole message start to finish.

5) We learn from videos

Videos are a great way to get information across quickly and concisely. In just a minute or two, you can tell your audience everything they need to know about a product or service. It’s a fast and easy way to learn. In fact, according to HubSpot, “When people hear information, they’re likely to remember only 10% of that information three days later. However, if a relevant image is paired with that same information, people retained 65% of the information three days later.”

Our memory for video is better than images or audio alone. A video helps us retain information, instead of forgetting what we learned an hour later. Motion graphics are a multi-sensory experience that enable people to remember you.

6) Videos can tell a story

Humans are storytelling creatures and our brains soak up a good story like a sponge. With motion graphics, you can not only introduce a product, but turn it into a memorable story. Tell the history of your company, teach us something new, or show customers how a product idea becomes a sales reality. The possibilities are endless.

7) They’re just plain fun

Enough said, really. Bright colors, sound effects. Who doesn’t love those?

Motion graphics are bright, entertaining, and intriguing. Whether you’re selling a new product or introducing your company to the world, motion graphics are a guaranteed way to delight and inspire your customers.
